"The Photographers' Gallery is the largest public gallery in London
dedicated to photography. From the latest emerging talent, to historical
archives and established artists – we are the place to see photography
in all its forms." - http://thephotographersgallery.org.uk/exhibitions-6
The Photographers Gallery held an exhibition called 'Deed Not Words' by Mark Neville, this exhibition is an experimental documentary that Mark Neville photographed the town of Corby in Northhamptonshire for eighteen months. He recorded its people, its culture and the effects of pollution that led to several babies being born with serious birth defects.
The photographs present the community as a whole, not simply the
families at the centre of the case. They show the Scottish
identity in the English town, even amongst third and fourth generation
families, young women at
nightclubs, entrants in a beauty contest, children dressed for the
town’s Highland Games.
