project 1

During the Assessment week, it was my task to create an artwork that fits within a 180mm square that clearly communicates what I am interested in within graphic design. It was very open as it could either use computers, hand generated work, photography etc. As well as the square I was instructed to write 100 words on what my aspirations and hopes are for working within graphics here (Ravensbourne) and long-term. This task had to be uploaded on Moodle on the 25th and have a physical A3 copy brought in for the first day of graphics pathway, here is my submission; -

This piece was created for my A2 graphics with the theme of 'Zodiacs', I focused on the Chinese zodiacs because it is something I learnt while growing up and it is part of my culture. I wanted to illustrate all 12 animals by having inspiring online and calendars to produce a zodiac wheel. The zodiac wheel shows the order of the animals and the years that it relates to for each animal, firstly I sketched the animals and enhanced it by scanning it onto Photoshop and polish the lines and add colour with the Pen Tool, apart from that, everything here is done by Photoshop. I added subtle shadow and glow to the animals and animals' names so it is easy to read and show it's a main focus.

The difference from the old me creating that piece to what I've learn and experienced during the Foundation course in Ravensbourne is that I am certainly deciding to go the Graphics pathway.
