Day 2: Fashion & Textiles

Today was the the second day of fashion and textiles rotation and we were told to bring in five body figures to dress with our samples we made yesterday. I went to the Study Zone and photocopied some black and white figures from Vogue, to apply colour to my work I also photocopied my five samples (which included origami foldings and newspaper) and repeated it, I only worked with orange and red and so I will use these colours as colour asset.

Our activity was to create garmets or sculptures onto our body figures using yesterday's sample to progress from. We were told to produce five outcomes. (No pictures of progression since I lost my phone on the day)

After we had to come up with 50 sketches of garmets from the ideas we generated today and inspiration from other people.

  1. I really like the use of geometric shapes and colour you used as it enables the model to standout more. You also didn't just used the existing form of the model, but considered the shape outside to make it part of the design, in addition to applying the same design style to the background to create continuity throughout your designs.
To develop it further maybe photocopy the designs and use other materials on that photocopy to create another layer.
